Meet Timothy
Its been a while since Punk legends Rancid graced these blessed shores. And whilst only playing a handful of shows, venues were heaving with audiences ranging from young to old and from the weekend punk to the hardcore sychophants.
Rancid played songs from their extensive repertoire including classic tracks “Roots Radicals”, “Maxwell Murder” and “I want a riot”, as well as giving die hard fans something many thought they’d never witness..half of Operation Ivy!!
Despite the predictablity of the show…yes we know Matt Freeman’s a “fucking good bassist” and we know he’s going to do a solo…the sheer energy at the shows mean Rancid can’t be faulted.
Having said that, the £17.50 price tag at the door can be faulted. You could get a flight to mainland europe for that price, not to mention a muffin and a cup of tea
Anyhow, the band are as tight as your bank manager post christmas and in full swing of a recession, and it’s obvious that as musicians and friends they work seamlessly together. Rancid will always play good live, it’s an inevitability…Thanks to Miss Fortune for the photos.
