Review: World Inferno Friendship Society – 25/07/2008

World Inferno Friendship Society gig at Camden Underworld 25th July 2008

Well where to begin! Support was provided by 2 Brighton bands, One Over and Bang Bang Bang. Once Over were up first giving a youthful blend of Hardcore, Ska and Punk, good stuff but nothing i hadn’t heard before. Bang Bang Bang were an interesting 3 piece and shame that everyone was still just waiting for the Inferno.

The main event! The World Inferno Friendship Society took to the stage. It was a nihilistic celebration starting with Tattoos Fade, Jack Terrycloth leading the percussive assault. Each and every society member mesmerising the audience as Jack dared them to take more drugs, steal more things and live more life then the authorities would allow.

This wasn’t a gig this was an indoctrination, a call to dance, a spiritual, sexual and musical extravaganza. The songs were a mixture of new and old spanning the history of the society.

The band were absolutely captivating and Jack, well he was astounding, a natural entertainer. If you ever get a chance you must see this troupe perform, and perform they will!
