Review: Goldfinger – “Hello Destiny”

Goldfinger

Spice Girls? Backstreet Boys? 5ive *Spit*? No, this is the opening lines of the new Goldfinger Album “Hello Destiny”, but this unfortunately is just a taste of things to come in this bland and unsavoury album. I only have one question when I hear this album, What the Fuck were they thinking? I mean, this album is written with a 12 year old audience in mind.

The album isn’t actually “bad”, if you don’t think of it as a Goldfinger album, but I feel cheated on, its like Goldfinger have given me 5 amazing albums, and this pile of crap is literally shitting all over them, its so boring and predictable I would honestly prefer to listen to the sound of my cat shitting. Seriously.

What we got next on this beautiful delight on an album, yep it’s the good old punk rock, fist in the air “hey, hey, hey” and all that bollocks. But what’s the song about? I really don’t know, they are talking about some revolution but they don’t say what, a music revolution, with this hunk of cock I doubt that this will never be the case, there’s a nice ska beat but that’s as good as it gets.

This album is almost like they have got the back catalogue and asked a bunch of kids what do you think are the favourite parts, and slapped it all together, its hideous a hybrid, so cheesy, bands normally progress, but its like Goldfinger really don’t give a fuck. Maybe these songs will sound better live, but I could never handle a chorus of “goodbye, my problems have just got bigger- good bye its time to pull the trigger”

My advice is to avoid this piss poor attempt of an album, its just so boring, I mean, its tacky and tedious, it’s a chore to listen to. It’s almost as if they haven’t got anything to sing about but thought of a nice tune. Its alike a big fuck you to all the fans. First Against me and now Goldfinger.

Thank you for the spot-on review of Goldfinger’s “Hello Destiny”. Judging by the title, I guess they’ve finally realized their destiny, and, like most punk-rock bands of their era, have become washed-up and outdated. It was so refreshing to hear someone else so aptly describe the shortcomings of this album. If I knew you personally, the next round would be on me.
